Bubble Fun

Bubble Fun!!

There have been lots of blog posts about making your
own bubbles. We decided to try them at our house.
So much fun!!

What you need:
-water bottle
-old sock or washcloth
-rubber band
-soap or bubbles

Cut the bottom half of the bottle off. Attach the sock or washcloth over
the bottom and secure with a rubber band. Dip the sock end into the
bubbles and blow!

Something we learned (the hard way!)…
remind your kiddos to only blow through the bottle…if they breathe
in they get a mouth full of soap/bubbles…blah!!

New Addiction

…and it is so much fun! A friend from MOPS shared
a link for a fabric bracelet tutorial. I purchased the pdf file
and tried it out. I think I found my new addiction!
I can’t wait to wear these out and show them off :)

T-Shirt Necklace

Martha Stewart is at it again…sharing another
cute idea! On her show, she made very fun
t-shirt necklaces with Queen Latifah! Michaels
happened to have their shirts on sale…so I grabbed
one to try.

Here is the link to Martha’s how-to for
T-Shirt Necklace

and…here are my pictures

You may notice a difference in the way I did mine compared
to Martha’s tutorial. In her directions she cuts the strips
all the way off. If you look at the picture directly above, you
can see that I stopped about 1 1/2 inches from the top. My
friend Kari made a few this way and not only is it much easier…
I like it better this way. Try it both ways…see what you think.
I will be washing my necklace tomorrow which will curl the strips
a little giving it some character.

A Note For You

One of my favorite blogs is Chic’ N Scratch.
She has very cute stamping ideas and easy
to follow tutorials. I loved this little card portfolio
and decided to make one for Kelly’s teacher.

Oh Martha

Martha, Martha, Martha…why must you be
so creative??? You cost me a lot of money this
weekend at Michael’s and Joann’s buying supplies
to copy all your craftiness. I must say though that I
love, love, love
the super cute necklace that
I made. I might just have to go back to Michael’s and
Joann’s so I can make more…maybe even some bracelets.

Here is Martha’s how-to link for
Dyed Wooden Beads Necklace

and…here is my how-to!

What you need:
Rit dye
Wooden beads ~ unfinished
Wire
Plastic Box
8 cups of hot water
1 1/2 tsp of Rit dye
String or leather cord (I used satin ribbon)

**I was surprised how quick the dye worked on the beads.
The beads in the picture below were soaked in Dark Brown Rit
for 5 minutes! Super easy. Super quick. Super cute!
